The 501st Legion is an international all-volunteer organisation created by and for people interested in re-creating costumes of the “bad guys” in the Star Wars universe. With over 10 000 active members worldwide, we are the world’s largest costuming club.
Formed in April 2011, Thylacine Squad is a local Tasmanian chapter of the 501st Legion and is comprised of members based in the Northern and Southern regions of Tasmania. Members of the Legion build the majority of their own costumes and use them for Star Wars -related events, movie premiers, conventions, parades, as well as community, charity, fundraising and volunteer work.
Thylacine Squad has proudly volunteered our time to attend a wide range of events such as Make A Wish, Kidsflix and Special Children’s Christmas Party, as well as raising funds for Save the Devil Program, Save the Children and the Starlight Foundation. We also do hospital visits.
We are the “bad guys doing good”; bringing a smile to both children and adults.
